Defining Success - On Your Own Terms

Defining Success - On Your Own Terms

When most people talk about success, they default to one of three things: money, status, or freedom.

But when I started writing this book, I kept thinking about how often people chase those things without ever asking the one question that actually matters:

“What does success look like to me?”

That might sound simple, but it’s a question most people can never clearly answer.
We typically resort to something grand that feels out of reach — like what we’d do if we hit the lottery.
As if that’s the only way to achieve what society has deemed to be success.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

💡 Here’s What I Did Instead

When I was 20, I had a very clear goal in mind — one that would meet my definition of success:

“How can I make $2 million by the time I’m 30 in an honest way that is fulfilling and creates value for others?”

It wasn’t just about the money.
It was about how I got there — and what that life would actually look like.

That single sentence became the cornerstone of how I made every major decision for the next decade.

If you haven’t already, take a few minutes this week to answer this honestly:

What does success look like for me — and how will I know when I’ve reached it?

Don’t chase someone else’s goal.
Define your own. Write it down, and work toward making it real.

You’ll be surprised how much easier it is to make decisions once you know what you’re actually aiming for.

Next up: We’ll talk about why most people don’t follow through on their ideas — and how to be the exception.

Thanks again for being here,
